Porsche 911. 1964–8 (prod. n/a). 2-door coupé, 2-door Targa convertible. R/R, 1991 cm³ (F6 OHC). Renamed 901, on the original wheelbase. Two-litre boxer engine capable of 210 km/h. S model from 1966, developing 160 PS, up from 130 PS, with Fuchs forged aluminium wheels and internally ventilated disc brakes all round. Targa from 1967, with removable soft top and foldable, rear plastic window. Sportomatic (four-speed with automatic clutch) from 1967. Factory competition versions from 1967, beginning with the R (prod. 20), with lighter weight, and usually fitted with a 210 PS unit. Regular 911 renamed 911L for 1968 model year; a 110 PS 911T was introduced beneath that. Competition T Rallye developed from 911S.
