1974 Pontiac Ventura GTO.jpg

Pontiac Ventura II/Pontiac Ventura. 1971–4 (prod. 7,058 GTO sold for 1974 only). 2-, 3- and 4-door sedan. F/R, 250 in³ (I6 OHV), 307, 350 in³ (V8 OHV). Pontiac’s version of Chevrolet Chevy II Nova, called Ventura II for its first year, Ventura thereafter. Unrelated to the larger car that bore the name previously. Pontiac versions usually plusher than Chevrolet’s. Three-door added 1973, and GTO package shifted to Ventura for 1974, making it far lighter than the Colonnade model from the previous year. Sprint typically denoted the performance model. Average in most respects, but 1973 V8s less than reliable.

Manufacturing location: Van Nuys, California, USA

Marque: Pontiac | Model: Pontiac Ventura | Successor: Pontiac Ventura (1975–7)
