Pontiac Sunfire (J-car). 1995–2005 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/F, 2189 cm³ (I4 OHV), 2196, 2261, 2392 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Upgrade to Sunbird, on related platform, and twin to Chevrolet Cavalier of these years. More performance-oriented styling, with DOHC 2·3 from launch, upgraded to 2·4 for 1996. Convertible to end of 2000 model year; sedan to 2002 in US, though it continued in Canada and México. Facelifts in 2000 and 2003. Not the best in quality terms, and, like Cavalier, selling on price.
