Pontiac Solstice Coupé.jpg

Pontiac Solstice. 2006–10 (prod. 65,724, incl. 1,266 coupé). 2-door convertible, 2-door targa. F/R, 1998, 2384 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Pontiac returns to making a two-seat sports, the first time since the Fiero. GXP with twin-scroll turbocharged 2·0 from 2007 to 2009; coupé with targa roof from 2009 to end of production. Related to Saturn Sky, with which it shared some drawbacks, such as poor interior materials and reliability. Excellent grip and more sporting than Sky, but neither matched the Mazda Roadster (NC). Small trunk had reverse-opening lid. Production ended when GM killed the Pontiac brand and shut the Wilmington plant.

Manufacturing location: Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Marque: Pontiac | Predecessor: Pontiac Fiero
