1980 Pontiac Phoenix LJ.jpg

Pontiac Phoenix (X-car). 1980–4 (prod. n/a). 2- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 2474 cm³ (I4 OHV), 2836 cm³ (V6 OHV). Corporate twin to the Chevrolet Citation but with more stylized dash, and some models with sporting SJ trim. Quality issues from the start, with two recalls in the first model year alone, although in theory a sensibly downsized front-wheel-drive range.

Manufacturing location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA

Marque: Pontiac | Model: Pontiac Phoenix | Predecessor: Pontiac Phoenix (1978–9) | Successor: Pontiac Grand Am (1985–91)

q.v. Buick Skylark (1980–5), Oldsmobile Omega (1980–4)
