Grand Am name revived for a compact front-wheel-drive range related to the [[Buick Somerset]] and [[Buick Skylark (1986–91)|Skylark]], and [[Oldsmobile Calais]]. Similar upright rear window. Two-doors initially, four-door sedan added 1986. Pontiac 2·5 or Buick 3·0 at launch; turbocharged two-litre from Sunbird added in 1987. Quad Four 2·3 from 1988, and high-output 180 hp version mid-year, but V6 deleted. Mid-term facelift in 1989.
