Meant to be the “European” entry among Pontiac’s intermediates, with more luxury, wood on the dashboard, bucket seats, and better handling. Its name suggested a mix of the Grand Prix and Trans Am models, but it wasn’t that convincing. Sales halved in the wake of the fuel crisis and never recovered. Engines were detuned in 1975. Most of the issues with the related Pontiac LeMans (1973–7) apply here, and the model line disappeared temporarily after the 1975 model year.
Marque: Pontiac | Model: Pontiac Grand Am | Successors: Pontiac LeMans (1973–7), Pontiac Grand Am (1978–80)
