1978 Opel Monza.jpg

Opel Monza. 1978–86 (prod. 47,008). 3-door coupé. F/R, 1979 cm³ (I4 OHV), 2197 cm³ (I4 OHC), 2490 cm³ (I6 OHV), 2784, 2969 cm³ (I6 OHC). Fastback version of Opel Senator A1 and A2, mirroring saloon’s changes, also sold as Vauxhall Royale in the UK. Facelifted in 1982. Secure and competent ride and handling, even in the mid-1980s. Electronic dashboard with A2 not altogether a success. Ferguson offered four-wheel-drive conversions in the UK for this model, while Irmscher bored out the largest six, though both were after-market. Not to be confused with Opel Kadett E-based saloon of the same name in South Africa.

Manufacturing location: Rüsselsheim, Germany

Marque: Opel | Model: Opel Monza
