Opel Astra H/Vauxhall Astra Mk V/Vauxhall Astravan/Chevrolet Vectra GT. 2004 to date (prod. unknown). 4- and 5-door saloon, 3-door coupé, 2-door hardtop convertible, 5-door estate, 3-door van. F/F, 1910 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. OHC), 1364, 1598, 1796, 1998, 2198, 2405 cm³ petrol, 1248, 1686, 1910 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. DOHC). New Astra on earlier platform, but substantially revised. Competent and well made, with mid-term facelift (2007) lavishing on more chrome. Excellent handling, good fuel economy. Coupé (called GTC) with lower roofline and option of Panorama roof (large windscreen extending into roof). First hardtop convertible for Astra, called TwinTop. Wide range of models, with 2·2 in Australia, 2·4 in Brazil. Vauxhall Astra in UK; Chevrolet Astra in México and Chile; Saturn Astra in US and Canada. Sold as Holden Astra (AH series) in Australasia, with indicator and windscreen wiper stalks reversed. Five-door sold in Brazil as Chevrolet Vectra GT. Brazilian-developed four-door launched 2006, built in Poland for Europe; see Chevrolet Vectra (2005–). Minivan called Zafira as with G generation.
