Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (A-special/G-body). 1978–88 (prod. n/a). 2-door coupé, 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 3790 cm³ petrol, 4280 cm³ diesel (V6 OHV), 4268, 4387, 4999, 5031, 5734 cm³ petrol, 5737 cm³ diesel (V8 OHV). Oldsmobile version of downsized personal–luxury A-specials, on the same wheelbase as regular Cutlass but less rear seat space. One of the best of this type of car in the US at the time, similar to its corporate twin, the Buick Regal (1978–87). Brougham denoted luxury model. Facelift in 1981, with shovel nose. In 1982, with the FWD Cutlass Ciera taking over mid-size duties, the RWD Cutlass sedan and wagon were absorbed into the Supreme line. Wagon deleted after 1983 model year, its role taken over by Ciera; sedan deleted 1987. Final facelift for coupé in 1987, the same year the 442 performance package moved to Supreme line from the Salon. Coupé called Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Classic for its final year.
