1985 Oldsmobile Calais 500.jpg

Oldsmobile Calais (N-body). 1985–7 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/F, 2261 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC), 2474 cm³ (4 cyl. OHV), 2966 cm³ (V6 OHV). A fresh start for Oldsmobile after the disappointing Omega, resembling a shrunken Toronado. Iron Duke engine soldiered on. Basic at the bottom end, with suspension geared for comfort, despite MacPherson struts up front and semi-independent trailing arm at rear. New DOHC Quad-4 introduced in 1987. Related to Buick Somerset and Pontiac Grand Am (1985–91).

Manufacturing location: Lansing, Michigan, USA

Marque: Oldsmobile | Predecessor: Oldsmobile Omega (1980–4) | Successor: Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais (1988–91)
