Nissan Primera (P11/P11-144/WP11). 1995–2001 (prod. unknown). 4- and 5-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1597, 1769, 1838, 1998 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC), 1974 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. OHC). Nissan, realizing European buyers wanted dynamism, tuned its second-generation Primera at the Nürburgring, and it was blessed with multi-link suspension front and rear. Excellent, sporty handling. Despite this, the styling remained dull, though it was a favourite of buyers who wanted dependable transport. Facelift for UK models in 1999, gaining more rounded front end. Camino denoted a Primera sold through the Sunny chain of dealers in Japan; UK-built hatchback imported to Japan was Primera UK 2·0 GT from 1997; also sold as Infiniti G20 in US.

Manufacturing locations: Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England; Japan
