Revealed as a 2009 model at the New York show, latest generation Maxima—a name that has been with Nissan since the mid-1970s—shows that the A34 model’s edgy lines have given way to fussy, mid-Pacific curves. Overstyled but Nissan promises that the new car will get back to its roots as a four-door sports car—not quite accurate since the nameplate began life as a big-engined Bluebird. No road test reports yet.
