Revealed as a 2009 model at the New York show with production commencing in 2008, latest generation Maxima—a name that has been with Nissan since the mid-1970s—shows that the A34 model’s edgy lines have given way to fussy, mid-Pacific curves. Nissan promised that the new car would get back to its roots as a four-door sports car—not quite accurate since the nameplate began life as a big-engined Bluebird. Good chassis and steering, high equipment levels and interior quality. Production of 2015 model-year Maximas ceased 2014.
