1980 Nissan Leopard TR-X.jpg

Nissan Leopard (F30). 1980–6 (prod. n/a). 2- and 4-door coupé. F/R, 1770 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1998, 2753 cm³ (I6 OHC), 2960 cm³ (V6 OHC). Part of Nissan’s upward drive of the 1980s, Leopard was seen as a smart, sporting mid-sizer, based around the long-nose six-cylinder Bluebird. Same width as Bluebird—at 1,700 mm—thanks to Japanese taxation laws. Supposedly a Toyota Soarer (Z10) rival, but never competitive, thanks to sub-par engines at launch, though three-litre V6 from 1984 helped matters. Mid-term changes in 1982.

Manufacturing location: Japan

Marque: Nissan | Model: Nissan Leopard | Successor: Nissan Leopard (F31)
