1994 Nissan Laurel Medalist 2·5 4WD.jpg

Nissan Laurel (日産 ローレル) (C34). 1993–7 (prod. n/a). 4-door hardtop sedan. F/R, F/A, 1998 cm³ petrol, 2826 cm³ diesel (I6 OHC), 1998, 2498 cm³ (I6 DOHC). No longer a true hardtop, with centre pillar added for safety, though this was hidden by the styling. Formal, unadventurous looks, evolved from C33 but not greatly changed. Four-wheel steering (HICAS) available on sporty Club S model; base 1·8 from C33 no longer offered, and manual transmissions disappeared, too, other than with the diesel. Rear multi-link suspension. Sixtieth anniversary model (commemorating Nissan’s anniversary) in 1993. Revisions as early as 1994, after a year of manufacture, with a rationalization of the range, and cost reductions. Facelift in September 1994, identifiable by modified rear tail and bumper. Driver’s SRS airbag standard on all models, and all-wheel-drive models added. By 1996, the passenger airbag also became standard, ABS in 1997.

Manufacturing location: Musashimurayama, Kantō, Japan

Marque: Nissan | Model: Nissan Laurel | Predecessor: Nissan Laurel (C33) | Successor: Nissan Laurel (C35)
