Multi-link suspension at rear, with optional four-wheel steering, in vogue in Japan at the time. Minor facelift in 1991, 2·5 added later in the year. Cumulative production reached 2 million in 1992, with a special edition (Medalist Celebration) sold in February that year. Medalist Club S Selection in May, to commemorate 40 million Nissan vehicles made.
