Nissan Laurel (C31). 1980–4 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 4-door hardtop sedan. F/R, 1770, 1952 cm³ petrol, 1952 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1998, 2393, 2753 cm³ petrol, 2792 cm³ diesel (I6 OHC). Laurel gets smarter, razor-edged looks for the 1980s, supposedly more “European” in appearance. Four-door hardtop drag coefficient measured at 0,38; the coupé was no more. Mid-term changes 1982, including more chrome on the grille and larger bumpers, and the deletion of a six-passenger model with the demise of a column gear-change option.
