Nissan Laurel (C230/C231). 1977–80 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé, 4-door hardtop sedan. F/R, 1770, 1952 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1991 cm³ diesel (I4 OHV), 1998, 2393, 2753 cm³ (I6 OHC). Third-generation Laurel, formalizing the swoopy bodywork of the previous generation. Sedan and coupé body styles, along with pillarless four-door hardtop sedan. Square headlamps for mid-term changes in 1978, when top Medalist trim added, along with diesel option. Nissan aimed for luxury, refinement and quality; interior space up from C130. L20 engine featured electronic fuel injection on the home market; engines had fewer emissions. Electric sunroof option 1980. Exported to some countries as Datsun 180L, 200L, 240L or 280L, depending on the engine size.
