Nissan 300 ZX Turbo.jpg

Nissan Fairlady Z (Z31). 1983–9 (prod. n/a). 3-door coupé, 3-door 2+2 coupé. F/R, 1998 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2960 cm³ (V6 OHC), 2960 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Fairlady gets fatter and less sporting. Geared to US market and lazy, boulevard cruising. Shape more aerodynamic, though, like contemporary Nissans, squared off. Turbo option on both four- and six-cylinder engines. Fiftieth anniversary model in 1984; ceramic turbo the same year. Mid-term facelift in 1986, making Z rounder. Exported with V6 as 300 ZX.
