Nissan Avenir (W10). 1990–7 (prod. n/a). 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1838, 1998 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC), 1973 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Utilitarian line, sold in Japan and New Zealand as Avenir but most countries as Primera (Estate or Traveller) despite slightly different grille. Fancier models left for export, mostly. As Japanese interest in station wagons increased, better-specified models followed in the home market, including an Avenir Salut GT Turbo with a turbocharged engine and four-wheel drive. Mid-term facelift in 1995, recognizable by horizontal rear lights.
