NSU 1000 TT/NSU TT/NSU TTS (Typ 67b/Typ 67c/Typ 67f). 1965–72 (prod. 66,021). 2-door saloon. R/R, 996, 1085, 1177 cm³ (I4 OHC). The 1965–7 1000 TT (prod. 14,292) took the 1000 formula but put in a larger 1·1-litre engine, getting a top speed of 148 km/h. Dual headlights at the front, with additional holes in the rear air intake, though there were still overheating problems. When the car became the TT (prod. 49,327) in 1967, NSU increased the engine size further to 1177 cm³, taking power up to 65 PS and top speed to 153 km/h. TTS (prod. 2,402), also introduced in 1967, developed for rallying, using 996 cm³ unit but adding twin Solex carburettors and a higher 10·5:1 compression ratio, getting 85 PS from the unit—particularly potent for a car weighing 700 kg. TTS to 1971, TT to 1972.
