Morris Minor 1000 Traveller.jpg

Morris Minor 1000. 1956–71 (prod. 847,491). 2- and 4-door saloon, 2-door convertible, 2-door estate (plus two rear doors). F/R, 948, 1098 cm³ (I4 OHV). Enlarged A-series engine and curved, one-piece windscreen for Minor, with top speed of 70 mph. Millionth Minor built 1960, with Minor 1000 badging gaining three zeroes. Engine enlarged a final time in 1962, with larger clutch and higher gearing. Increasingly anachronistic by the 1960s, especially alongside more modern Morris 1100. Convertibles to 1969, saloons to 1970, and Traveller deleted in 1971. Two-door pick-up and van also offered as part of commercial range.

Manufacturing location: Oxford, Oxfordshire, England

Marque: Morris | Model: Morris Minor | Predecessor: Morris Minor Series II | Successor: Morris Marina
