Small car sold by BMC Australia, derived from a Morris Minor replacement, and related to the Austin Lancer, Riley One-Point-Five and Wolseley 1500. Sold in three series: the original was essentially a British car made in Australia, while the second and third saw Australian engineers toughen the design up to make it suitable for local conditions. By the time the Major left production, it was regarded as a strong and reliable small car suited to Australian conditions.
