Morris 1100.jpg

Morris 1100 (ADO 16). 1962–5 (prod. 801,966 incl. Mks II and III). 2- and 4-door saloon, 3-door estate. F/F, 1098 cm³ (I4 OHV). Smart, minimalist follow-up to Mini, with similar packaging principles (transverse engine, front-wheel drive). A few more embellishments to the design, such as tiny fins at rear. Traveller estate from 1966. Two-door for export only. Good roadholding, very practical, finding plenty of buyers in the UK. Twinned with Austin 1100, which was released a year later.

Manufacturing location: Longbridge, Birmingham, England

Marque: Morris | Model: Morris 1100 | Predecessor: Morris Major Élite | Successors: Morris 1100, 1300 Mk II, Morris 11/55 Mk I
