Morgan Aero 8/Morgan Aeromax/Morgan Aero SuperSports. 2002–15 (prod. n/a; 100 Aeromax). 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible, 2-door Targa. F/R, 4799 cm³ (V8 DOHC). The first all-new Morgan in decades, with modern take on traditional roadster style. Ash substructure on bonded aluminium chassis, with aluminium bodywork. Very lightweight; engine from BMW. Lightness helped contribute to respectable fuel economy figures: mpg in the mid-20s. Facelift in 2007. Original Aero 8 convertible to 2009, in five official versions; hardtop Aeromax on sale 2008–10 to commemorate Morgan’s centenary. SuperSports with Targa roof from 2010. Closed version of SuperSports, Aero Coupé, made Genève début 2012. Far pricier than traditional Morgans, commanding Porsche to Aston Martin prices new. Orders for SuperSport (the final s disappeared during the run) and Coupé taken till April 2015; production ceased later that year.
