1984 Mitsubishi Tredia.jpg

Mitsubishi Tredia. 1982–90 (prod. unknown). 4-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1410, 1597, 1755, 1795, 1997 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC). Conventionally styled Mitsubishi sedan, slotting in between compact Lancer and mid-sized Galant. Sister car to Mitsubishi Cordia. Name apparently a contraction of tre diamantes (three diamonds), after the company logo. Turbocharged (1·6 and 1·8) and four-wheel-drive models (from 1984) offered, in keeping with fashion in the 1980s. Part of original Mitsubishi-branded range sold in US. Never directly replaced, though 1990s’ Carisma could be said to fill the same niche.

Manufacturing location: Japan

Marque: Mitsubishi | Successors: Mitsubishi Eterna (1988–92), Mitsubishi Carisma
