Mitsubishi Mirage. 1978–83 (prod. n/a). 3-, 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 1244, 1410, 1597 cm³ (I4 OHC). Advanced-looking front-wheel-drive hatchback, responding to fuel crisis. Supershift transmission had four speeds and two modes. Five-door and 1·6-litre from 1979, four-door sedan from 1982 (also badged Lancer Fiore). Turbo model (77 kW) from 1982. Sold as Mitsubishi Colt in some markets, Colt 1200 and 1400 in UK, and Dodge Colt and Plymouth Champ in US. Manufacture by Mitsubishi Australia saw models badged as Colt (listed separately), with this generation built from 1982 to 1990 with 1·4- and 1·6-litre engines.
