Mitsubishi Libero. 1992–2002 (prod. n/a). 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1299, 1468, 1598, 1755 cm³ petrol, 1998 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Mitsubishi Lancer (1991–5) derivative, made in regular and downmarket, commercial Cargo versions, capitalizing on the interest in station wagons in Japan. Regular changes throughout the run, and sold alongside next generation of Lancers as well. RV package from 1996, giving Libero a go-anywhere image, as well as a basic 1·5-litre model. Succeeded in 2000 by Lancer Cedia Wagon, though Cargo continued for two more years. Usually exported as Lancer.
