2003 Mitsubishi Lancer.jpg

Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia/Mitsubishi Lancer/Mitsubishi Cedia. 2000 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1299, 1468, 1584, 1997, 2378 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1468, 1834, 1997 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Middle-of-the-road compact sedan and wagon, and, depending on the engine, either sluggish or quick. Reasonable ride and handling, fairly economical on most units, but not one aspect remarkable, till one considered the Evolution sporting models. Initially Lancer Cedia on launch; Cedia tag disappeared on 2003 facelift, penned by Olivier Boulay. Another facelift in 2005. Continued in Japan as budget model after announcement of Galant Fortis, which replaced Lancer for export in most markets. Discontinued in Japan in May 2010, Philippines (where Fortis is badged Lancer EX, to distinguish itself from this model) in c. 2012, and in India (as Mitsubishi Cedia, built by Hindustan) in June 2013. Continued in Venezuela.
