Distinctive Lancer, with upright looks but rounded corners, giving family connection to larger Galant. Distinctive fastback model with hatch reminiscent of Toyota Celica. Some countries sold Mirage coupé and three-door hatch under Lancer nameplate; previous wagon continued these years. Sold in North America as Eagle Summit and formed the basis of the Proton Wira.
