Mitsubishi Galant (E30). 1987–92 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1597, 1755, 1997 cm³ petrol, 1795 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1755, 1997 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Rebodied Galant, dropping the Σ tag. Larger than predecessor, even if it looked smaller, galvanized bodyshell. Well equipped. Fastback model actually called Mitsubishi Eterna (1988–92), though marketed as Galant for export. Formed basis of World Rally Championship model, marketed as VR-4. As was the trend in Japan at the time, four-wheel-steer model available, with complex technology. Other export names included Dodge 2000 GTX and Eagle 2000 GTX in Canada.
