Mitsubishi GTO (Z15A/Z16A). 1990–2000 (prod. n/a). 3-door coupé, 2-door coupé–cabriolet. F/F, F/A, 2972 cm³ (V6 OHC), 2972 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Mitsubishi’s ambitious tour de force at the time of launch, a high-tech showcase with four-wheel drive and four-wheel steer, along with powerful twin-turbo engine developing 206 kW. Active aerodynamics and switchable exhaust note. Later, hotter GTO VR-4 saw 235 kW from its three-litre engine. Mid-term changes 1993, though improvements made each year. Retractable hardtop model added to target North American markets.
