Mitsubishi Colt Galant (A2GS). 1969–73 (prod. unknown). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/R, 1439, 1597, 1686 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC), 1593 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). First-generation Galant, bearing the Colt tag in some markets including Japan, helped Mitsubishi find export markets, especially the US where it was the first Dodge Colt. GTO from 1970; FTO from 1971—both considered legendary, high-performance models. Established Mitsubishi as a performance marque in Japan, and Galant had competition history, including Southern Cross Rally in Australia in 1972.
