Revision as of 13:19, 27 May 2012Mitsubishi Colt Galant/Chrysler Valiant Galant (A2GS/GA/GB). 1969–74 (prod. unknown). 2- and 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé, 3-door van, 5-door wagon. F/R, 1289, 1439, 1597, 1686 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC), 1593 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). First-generation Galant, bearing the Colt tag in some markets including Japan, helped Mitsubishi find export markets, especially the US where it was sold as the first Dodge Colt. GTO from 1970; FTO from 1971—both considered legendary, high-performance models. Established Mitsubishi as a performance marque in Japan, and Galant had competition history, including Southern Cross Rally in Australia in 1972. Japanese production to 1973, Australian production to 1974.
