Mitsubishi Colt. 1965–9 (prod. n/a). 2-, 3- and 4-door sedan. F/R, 843 cm³ (I3 2-str.), 977, 1088 cm³ (I4 OHV). Made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the company that preceded Mitsubishi Motors Corp. Successor to 600, two-stroke 800 was meant to beat the Toyota Publica (P10), which was equipped with a 700 cm³ engine. Well equipped, helping form the value-packed image of Japanese cars in the mid- to late 1960s. One-litre from 1966. Two-door initially, with hatchback added 1967. Four-door from 1968. Base 800 cancelled in 1968 when 1100 came on stream. Super Sports from 1968, with some competition success. Final incarnation in 1969 as 1100F renamed 11F.
