Mitsubishi’s first postwar car, built by Shin Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Basic, utilitarian small car, with 20-litre fuel tank and a 490 kg kerb weight. Single Solex carburettor at launch, with air-cooled OHV, developing 21 PS at 5,000 rpm. Three-speed manual only. Top speed was 90 km/h. Larger engine from 1961 for the super deluxe model, though the name remained 500.
