2010 Mini Countryman.jpg

Mini Countryman (R60). 2010 to date (prod. unknown). 5-door estate. F/F, F/A, 1598 cm³ petrol, 1560 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. DOHC). SUV version of Mini, losing the cute proportions of the original. Old Austin estate name revived. Four-wheel drive (All4) derived from BMW’s X-drive. John Cooper Works pack lowers suspension by 10 mm—the height that standard Countrymans gain over regular R55 Minis. Steering less immediate, suiting its market, with better ride. Being heavier, the Countryman is slower than the standard car. No real predecessor, though BMW tried to connect the Beachcomber show car, which previewed the Countryman, to the original Mini Moke.

Manufacturing location: Graz, Austria

Marque: Mini
