Mercury Montego (D333). 2005–7 (prod. 63,068 sold in US). 4-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 2967 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Twin of the Ford Five Hundred, and even less successful than the blue oval model. Roomy and generally well laid out, and actually pleasant to drive, but the lack of name recognition—reviving a 1970s nameplate—hurt its chances after the successful Sable. Three-litre engine adequate for power; CVT transmission was one of its weaker points.

Manufacturing location: Chicago, Illinois, USA

Marque: Mercury | Model: Mercury Montego | Predecessor: Mercury Sable (2000–5) | Successor: Mercury Sable (2008–9)
