Mercury Montego. 1970–1 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 4-door hardtop, 2-door coupé, 5-door wagon. F/R, 250 in³ (I6 OHV), 302, 351, 390, 429 in³ (V8 OHV). Technically the same, and with virtually the same interior, but new sheetmetal and protruding M nose (one can make out the letter M if viewed from above). No Comet this time, so Montego became the basic mid-sized car. Hidden headlights for Brougham. The 390 was dropped for 1971. Related to Mercury Cyclone (1970–1). Twinned with Ford Torino (1970–1).
