Upscale version of Ford Fairlane (1968–9), with the Montego nameplate gradually taking over from earlier Comet (Capri and Caliente supplanted by Montego and Montego MX). The same remarks as Fairlane apply: an intermediate styled to look like a full-sized car, with questionable handling to match.
Marque: Mercury | Model: Mercury Montego | Predecessor: Mercury Comet (1966–7) | Successor: Mercury Montego (1970–1)
