Mercury Milan (CD338). 2006–11 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 2261, 2488 cm³ petrol, 2488 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid (I4 DOHC), 2967 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Americanized Mazda Atenza (GG), carrying on the idea of Australian Ford Telstar in North America. Plusher version of US Ford Fusion and looking much like it, though Mercury grille fits with this shape better than most. Supposedly a Mercury Sable replacement, but bear in mind Sable never grew in size to match Toyota Camry—better thought of as a Mystique replacement, six years late (even Ford does, grouping Milan into what it calls its CD segment). Fairly successful despite the same relative size as old Mercury Mystique—probably because Ford more willing to market the new car. Firmer ride than Fusion but Accord and Camry have more grunt. Production ended with 2011s as Ford phased out the Mercury marque.

Manufacturing location: Hermosillo, Sonora, México

Marque: Mercury | Predecessors: Mercury Mystique, Mercury Sable (2000–5)
