Mercedes-Benz S350d/Mercedes-Benz S400d/Mercedes-Benz S450/Mercedes-Maybach S480/Mercedes-Benz S500/Mercedes-Benz S580/Mercedes-Maybach S580/Mercedes-Maybach S680 (W223/V223/Z223). 2020 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon, 4-door extra-LWB saloon. F/R, F/A, 2925 cm³ diesel, 2999 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid, 28·6 kWh–2999 cm³ electric–petrol hybrid (I6 DOHC), 3982 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid (V8 DOHC), 5980 cm³ (V12 DOHC). S-Klasse goes on new MRA II platform, an evolution of previous one, but allowing for a larger battery for plug-in hybrids and a rear-steering axle. Longer, wider and taller. Big grille up front, more triangular taillights. Pop-out door handles for a cleaner look, allowing Cd to drop to 0,22. Technology most obvious inside, with large central OLED touchscreen for infotainment, with more processing power and voice control. In front of the driver, a three-dimensional instrument panel and augmented-reality head-up display are optional. Lane-keeping and steering assistance among features. Air suspension gave cossetting ride, but the car could also be grippy and responsive for the driver.
