Originally a revolutionary, tall city car with an innovative “sandwich floor” construction, which gained infamy early on for failing the Swedish “elk test“ and rolling over, Mercedes-Benz’s A-Klasse became a more conventional, yet very stylish, front-wheel-drive hatchback by its third generation. A plainer fourth generation débuted in 2018.
