Mazda Roadpacer. 1975–7 (prod. 840 sold). 4-door sedan. F/R, 1308 cm³ Wankel (2 rotor; 3662 cm³ nominal capacity). Holden Premier-based full-sized sedan, intended for Japanese government officials, but launched in the wake of the fuel crisis and considered a flop. Australian bodyshells of HJ and HX series shipped to Japan where Mazda Wankel engine inserted. Car was expensive (¥3·8 million, double the price of the Mazda Cosmo) and thirsty (9 mpg), and had more extras than original Holden, contributing to weight.

Manufacturing locations: Australia; Hiroshima, Japan

Marque: Mazda
