Mazda Familia (BH). 1994–8 (prod. n/a). 3- and 4-door sedan, 3-door coupé. F/F, F/A, 1324 cm³ petrol, 1686 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1489, 1597, 1840 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Familia grew in size. Three- and four-door still had different sheetmetal, with former on shorter wheelbase. Three-door called Familia Neo. No five-door—old Astina had been replaced by Lantis. Exported as 323, with Lantis five-door included in that range. Europe had an additional, more conventional three-door hatchback sedan, dubbed 323P. Good power from DOHC units, especially 1·8 shared with Eunos Roadster (NA). Four-wheel independent suspension, though body roll excessive. Sedan twinned with Ford Laser (1994–8); Laser coupé had greater changes.
