Small family car range, originally called Mazda 800 for export. As Japanese consumer tastes developed, the Familia got bigger, and export models bore three-digit designations such as 808, 818 and 323, or in the US, GLC. As the 323, the Familia became a mainstay of Mazda’s range, but the model line came to a close, except on a series of commercial vans made by Nissan, with the new millennium. Many were also twinned with the Ford Laser.
