Mazda Carol (HB12S/HB22S/HB23S). 1998–2004 (prod. n/a). 3- and 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 657 cm³ (I3 OHC), 658 cm³ (I3 DOHC). Twin of the Suzuki Alto (HA12), made by Suzuki for Mazda under an OEM deal. Identical initially—a straight badge-engineering job—with the upscale trim level called MeLady. From 2001, the mid-term facelift saw a different front bumper incorporating the Mazda grille.
