Mazda Capella (SNA/SU2A/S122A/CB12/CB12S/CB1V). 1970–8 (prod. 225,003 rotary only). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/R, 1490, 1586, 1769, 1796 cm³ (I4 OHC), 2 × 573 cm³ Wankel. Mid-sized range slotting in between Familia and Luce, and exported as 616 or 618, and 12A rotary-engined models as RX-2. Particularly potent in rotary form, developing 120 PS, with fast acceleration, and capable of 190 km/h. Very roomy, with enough interior space to challenge the Toyota Corona Mark II (T60) in the class above. Minor changes in 1971, with G series featuring four headlights. Automatic rotary also from 1971. Facelift in 1974, with length growing by 110 mm, thanks to the new front end.
