Mazda Capella (CG).jpg

Mazda Capella (CG). 1994–7 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1789, 1991 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). With Mazda realizing its multi-brand strategy would fail, the mid-sized range was quickly rationalized to the CG Capella, a traditional model staying within the 5 tax classification (with a 1,700 mm width), in an attempt to return to its senses. Platform, despite being narrower, closely related to Cronos’s. Capella name returned, along with a very traditional grille for middle Japan, modelled after Mazda Sentia (HD). Decent level of equipment at the time. Twinned with Ford Telstar II. Rarely seen outside Japan, though exported to Hong Kong.

Manufacturing location: Hiroshima, Japan

Marque: Mazda | Model: Mazda Capella | Predecessors: Mazda Cronos, Efini MS-6, Autozam Clef | Successor: Mazda Capella (GF)
